1. Scope
This Refund Policy covers the paid services BackerCove sells directly: Community Boost promotional packages and the paid Campaign Strategy Session. It does not cover pledges or reward purchases, which are made on external crowdfunding platforms and are subject to those platforms' and creators' refund terms. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.
2. Community Boost refunds
Because Boost packages deliver promotional effort and placement over time, refunds depend on how much has been delivered when you request one. Before any deliverable for your package has begun, you may request a full refund. Once delivery is underway, refunds are prorated for the portion of the package not yet delivered, at our reasonable assessment, unless the law requires otherwise. If a refund is issued, the associated promotional deliverables are paused or stopped.
3. Consultation refunds
For the paid Campaign Strategy Session, you may request a full refund if you cancel before the session takes place and outside any minimum notice window shown at booking. Once the session has been delivered, the fee is generally non-refundable, except where required by law or where we did not provide the session as described. The free introductory consultation carries no fee and therefore no refund.
4. The Funded-or-Free posture
Where a “Funded-or-Free” or similar arrangement is offered, it is a billing policy, not a promise that your campaign will succeed. Its exact conditions — including what counts as “funded,” the qualifying period, any eligibility requirements, and how a refund or credit is applied — are stated on the specific offer and at checkout, and those stated conditions control. BackerCove does not guarantee funding, backers, or campaign success under this or any arrangement.
5. How refunds are processed
To request a refund, contact us or message the team from your studio. We track refund status for each purchase. Approved refunds are processed through Stripe to the original payment method. Processing times depend on Stripe and your bank; the amount returned may reflect the prorating and conditions above. You will receive confirmation, and your billing history will reflect the refund status.
6. Non-refundable situations
Refunds are generally not available for promotional effort already delivered, for services removed or paused because you violated our Terms or policies, for change of mind after a service has been fully delivered, or where prohibited by law. Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have.
7. Pledges are handled externally
BackerCove never collects pledges. If you pledged to or backed a campaign, any refund of that pledge is handled by the external crowdfunding platform and the creator under their terms — not by BackerCove. Please see our Crowdfunding Risk Disclosure.
